The proposed new location for Mr. Gordon's business is in an
area which is the subject of a letter from Mr. Philip H. Nason,
NE O1,ENENOM
TwEFSURER
President of the Port Authority, to you dated December 15, 1961.
In this letter, it was puggested the City Council ask the

Housing & Redevelopment Authority to study this area as a

possible site for an urban renewal project. -
.. ,. F' Derr -•.
We now understand that the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
is proceeding with the study of this area and, therefore, it is
suggested that Mr. Gordon be informed that there is a definite
possibility that his proposed new location might become a part
of an urban renewal project in the future, possibly three to
five years hence. If Mr. Gordon still indicates a desire to
locate in the area, consideration could be given to issuing
a permit on a year to year basis, dependent, of course, on
the recommendations of the City Planning Board relative to
compatibility of this business with present land use.
a Very truly yours,
