RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paulo" �osuant' �fe "
the report and recommendation of the Public Utilities Commit e in the
premises, that, in respect of the matter of the Application of Northern
Natural Gas Company pending before the Federal Power Commission, germane
to the 8th rate schedule filed by said Company with said Commission and
Particularly concerning the hearing before said Commission's Examiner
scheduled for-April 11, 1962, at 10 o'clock a. m. at Washington, D. C.,
and a proposed stipulation by said Company and its customers for a change
in the rate design of said Company by order of said Commission so as to
elevate the commodity rate by one cent per MCF and to decrease the demand
rate proportionately, that it appears and this Council finds that the
maintenance of the present rate design of said Company would bette,r,;.0erve
the interests of said City and consumers of natural gas Banished by
Northern States Power Company within the City of Saint Paul and purchased
by said latter Company from said. Northern Natural Gas Company and that
the retention of the aforesaid rate design would better secure the established
economies and structure of said Northern States Power Company as a supplier
of natural gas within the City of Saint Paul.", and that this Council advocates
the retention of said presently established rate design and that the City
of Saint Paul shall not become a party to the aforesaid stipulation or any
other stipulation which shall be proposed in said matter for an order of
said Commission altering said rate design of said Northern Natural Gas
Company.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the aforesaid determination is limited
to the presently proposed stipulation and the aforesaid rate design of
said Company in regard to said factors of commodity and demand rates and
the Corporation Counsel is authorized to take such action'in said matter
consistent herewith.as shall be deemed in the public interest.
