WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Pubic Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an
emergency during the period from July 1, 1962 to July 15, 1962
inclusive which rendered necessary the employment of certain
employees of the Department of Public Utilities for more
than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing
the following work:
I
Supervising the activities of the City Market,
Making emergency repairs to street lighting circuits,
Making air pollution tests,
and
WHEREAS, This emergency arose by eason of the following facts and
circumstances:

Holiday and Saturday work made necessary because of
increased activity at the City Market,
Overtime night work required to restore street lighting
service immediately for public safety,
Work necessary at irregular hours to complete tests for
federal agency,

therefore, be it
RESOLVED,
COUNCILMEN
That thelproper city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with
the provisions of the Council's Salary ordinance, Ordinance
No. 6446 � 1
