THZ COUNCIL' OF TIE CITY OF' SA NT PAUL DOES. ORDAIN:
Section 1. That .Ordinance. No. 32502, approved August 20, 1914,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out of
Section 10 D, the following:
"No person shall be admitted to an: examination for any position in
the Classified Service who is not a citizen of the United Staten or
an honorably discharged soldier or sailor of the United States
army or navy and a legal resident of St. Paul for at least six
months next preceding the date of such examination;"
and. by substituting in lieu !thereof the following:
"No person shall be admitted to an, examination for any position in
the Classified ,Service unless, he is a citizen of the United Stater
or has been honorably discharged from one of the military services
of the United States. government, and in- either case has also been
a legal resident of Saint Paul for at least six months . next preceding
the date of, the examination; t'.
Section 2. That Lid ordinance— as amended, be and the same is
le "reby further amended by adding at the end of Section 10 D. the following:
"If the residence requirements e have been waived for an examination in
accordance with this. Section, an appointee from the resulting eligible
list who is, not a resident of the City at the time of appointment shall
be allowed up to six months from the time of appointment to become a
bona fide resident of t�e City."

shall be a bona fide resident of the City during the period of his em-
ployment as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain such
residence shall be deemed insubordination and misconduct, and auto-
matic forfeiture of employment; provided, however, that these latter
provisions. shall not apply to persons . whose employment by the City
requires. that they reside at or near the Fridley or Centerville pumping
stations; nor shall they, apply to employees who occupy a temporary
summer residence outside, of the City between the dates of May 15 and
September 15 of any year."
