COUNCIL RESOLUTIO_,NGENERAL FO Whereas, T � Whereas, The Federal Aviation Agen- cy has recently, by regulation, reduced _ PRESENTED BY he minim0n, height requirements by COMMISSIONER DATE 'free hung_! feet for the approzeb,1 landir t ;fc st 71obl Ch: :rn- #lain 4A,37J2i*6 ;3:' " -4 'd�7her';,1sIIfi of .Jmua -u,; •8•+1 j _2liS'II' r go � WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation AgencyNds recently,b'� by regulation, reduced the minimum height requirements by three hundred feet for the approach of landing air traffic at Wold Chamberlain Field; and WHEREAS, existing runway areas make it necessary for a large percentage of daily air traffic to approach said ,field over heavily populated residential areas in Saint Paul, particularly Highland Park and its surrounding areas; and WHEREAS, the reduced minimum height requirements as promulgated by the Federal Aviation Agency acts as a detriment to the safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the above areas; now, therefore,be it RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul on behalf of the people of Saint Paul, that it protests the aforementioned regulation of the Federal Aviation Agency and respectfully requests the reinstatement of former minimum height restrictions; and be it 'FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Clerk is hereby.- directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Metropolitan Airports Commission for their consideration.
