Loss — Resolved, That the proper City offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay cer- tain employes in the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Build= ings for extra employment as de- scribed in the resolution. Adopted by the Council July 5, 1962. Approved July 5 1962. (July 5, 1962) WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, in accordance witI Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from Jane 16 to 30, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervision., operation, maintenance, care and protection ce public parks and play- grounds and of their facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the fol- lowing facts and circumstances Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of departmental activities, such as:; Civic Events and municipal sports and playground programs required increased time and eff6rt of an unforeseen but temporary nature; extensifre hail damage to Como Park and conservatory; breakdown of equipment necfassitated immedi- ate repairs; and heavy, weekend patronage of golf refectories. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who per - formed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
