install and operate a 64 -car off - street employe private parking

on Lots 1, 2, 3, Block 12, Basil and Roberts Addition, in accordance
with plans a pp roved .A ugust 16, 1962, subject to compliance with
the provisions of all ordinances governing the operation'of parking
lots, and to the condition that the sidewalks abutting said premises
be kept clean and free of ice ;and snow at all times.

This is in the matter of the application of the Waterous Company
for a permit to install and operate a 64 car off - street employee
parking lot on property located at the southwest corner of Custer
Street and Fairfield Avenue and described as Lots 1, 2, 3; Block
12, Bazil and Roberts Addition. The zoning is heavy industry.

The site is being used for off - street parking purposes and the
applicant proposes to make a permanent parking installation.
This is an irregularly shaped tract of land having a frontage of
59.6 feet on Fairfield Avenue and 150 feet on unimproved Custer
Street, resulting in an area of approximately 25,380 square feet.
North and across Fairfield Avenue and west and adjoining afire
industrial uses; to the east and south are substandard houses.
Field investigation discloses no objection to the proposall. The
Traffic Engineer has approved the plans which meet the standards
for this type of facility. I
In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning,recom-
mends the granting of the application to install a 64 car employee
parking lot on the above described property in accordance 'with,
plans approved August 16, 1962. 1 -
