WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordancI with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period rom august 1, 1962
to August 31, 1962, which rendered neceesary the employment of certaJn employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following works
Clerical work in the Bureau of General Administration (Office) and
TMEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances2
Lack of personnel to type reports and keep records up to date.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay

the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Counoilts
Salary Ordinance No. 6446,
