VMREA,S, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance with'Section 53
oft he City Charter, the. existence of an emergency during the period from 66tober 1, 1962
to October 31, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the

Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,

in doing the following work= f
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Maintenance and
VMREA,S, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Maintaining a crew on the Columbus Day holiday and also at the time the oral
polio vaccine was given. at the Public Health Center.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of'the Council's
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
