� WHEREAS, the Intemational Association of Plumbing and Mechanicai Officiais Educational Conference covenng proposed
a changes to the 2009 Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes is being held in Las Vegas, Nevada from September 23
s through Septem6er 27, 2�07; and

� i WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pipe Trades has funds available for a mechanical inspector to attend this conference; and
iz wishes to donate the money to the City for the use 6y mechanical inspectors in the Department of Safety and Inspections

�s WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a pu6lic purpose to the conference, and acepts the money from the
is Minnesota Pipe Trades and appropoates it to the intended use; and

ia WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to sec. 1QA7A1 of the city charter, ce�tifies that there are avaiiable for appropriations
is $1,809 in funds in excess of those estimated in the 2007 budget; and

I am asldng for your approval to accept a�ft from the Minnesota Pipe Trades in the amount of
$1809.40. These funds are being made available by this organization so that one of our
mechanical inspectors may attend the "Intemational Association of Piumbing and Mechanical
Officials Educational Conference" being held in Las Vegas, Nevada from September 23
through September 27�' 2007. This conference covers proposed changes to the 2009 Uniform
Plumbing and Mechanical Codes. It also hosts workshops conceming code enforcement and
interpretation issues.
The costs are as follows:
