D9 *1EREAS, The Commissioner of Finance has reported, in accor- dance with Section 53of the City Charter, the existence of an emer- gency during the period from October 1 to October 15, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the De- partment of Finance for more than eight hours per day or forty. hours per week in doing the following works spreading assessments and checking assessment spreads and preparing Auditor's report and bringing transfer book records up to date; and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: two vacancies in Bureau of Receipts and Disburse- ments and shortage of experienced assessment clerks; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby. authorized to paSy.the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446. _ COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays Dalglish Holland Loss Mortinson Peterson Rosen Mr. President, Vavoulis 101\1 6-62 In Favor Against Council File No. 209599 —By -James J.
