PAUL FOENCIL NO. d'�s OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONI WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from October 1 to 15, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervision, operation, maintenance, care and protection of public parks and playgrounds and of their facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the follow- ing facts and circumstances: Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of departmental activities, such as: Civic events and municipal sports and playground programs required increased time and effort of an unforeseen but temp- orary nature; breakdown of equipment neci�ssi- tated immediate repairs; storm damage to boule- vard trees; supervision of golf refectories maintained mere -tkaR seven days a week.
