in the title of Fourth Assistant. This is an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT: PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of
Saint Paul is hereby authorized to appoint an additional Assistant
Corporation Counsel in the title of Fourth.Assistani Corporation
Counsel.
Sec. 2. That the salary of such additional Assistant Cor-
poration Counsel shall be that salary as heretofore established
by ordinance and as may be amended or changed from time to time
by action of this Council.
Sec. 3, That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety.
Sec. 4. That publication of this ordinance shall be made on
the first day of November, 1962, and said ordinance shall take effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication.

Duties and responsibilities: r
Under supervision to act as an attendant at an indoor swimming pool
for the purpose of preventing drownings, instructing swimmers,
giving first aid, and preserving order; and to perform related
work as assigned.
Examples of work performed: '
To stand watch at an assigned shift at an indoor pool.
To rescue bathers who are in danger,,
To maintain order in the pool.
To render first aid.
To see that pool equipment is not misused.
To report accidents.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation. Must have an up -to -date life saving
certificate issued by the Red Cross or Y. M. C. A.

Under supervision, to act as an attendant at a swimming pool locker
room for the purpose of keeping it neat and orderly, and to
perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To take tickets.
To assign lockers.
To keep the locker room neat and orderly.
To maintain order.
Minimum qualifications:
Eighth grade education.

Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to teach swimming and water safety at an indoor
swimming pool.
Examples of work performed:
To instruct a -- -mming classes.
To teach life saT ,rungmethods including artificial respiration.
To teach safety precautions to be observed in and around a swimming
pool.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation. Must have an up -to -date water safety
instructors certificate issued by the Red Cross.
