Doss BY DATE Jl]T1P- lj 1962 Whereas, It has been reported to the Council by the'.Commissioner of Parks, & Recreation & Public Buildings ;that a sudden and unexpected emergency has arisen in that at the present time it has been reported to him that there is an immediate necessity for the treatment and removal of cracked, split and dangerous trees situated on the City boulevards and other public places, which condition is a direct result of the unprecedented wind storm in May, 1962, said condition creating an extremely hazardous condition and potential further damage, injury and destruction; and Whereas, It has been estimated by said Department that the cost of alleviating the said dangerous condition will not be less than $20,000.00; and Whereas, There exists at the present time no available funds for ex- - penditure to relieve said condition and to provide for the treatment or re-" moval of such trees on City property; therefore, be it Resolved, That the Council declare an emergency in the light of the fact above for an amount not exceeding $20,000.00.
