PAUL O NCIL NO OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL 119SOLUTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONI WHEREAS., the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from May 16th to May 31st 1962 inclu- sive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: lj Working extra shifts, various stations. 2 Changing 2" Water Meter at Bremer Arcade. 3) Driving country crew to and from work. AND WHEREAS., this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: 1 Absence of employees on regular shifts. 2 Water could not be shut off during regular working hours. (3 On account of scattered work locations. THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provision of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446: Council File No. 207466 —BY Mrs. Donald M. DeCourcy- Resolved, That the proper City officers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Water for the rreso upionment as de- scribed in by the Council June 1, 1962.
