WHER AS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from May 1, 1962
to May 31, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following work3
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Maintenance and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances=
Opening and closing the Public Health Building on week -ends and maintaining
a crew on the Memorial Day Holiday,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Counoilla
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
