WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the exis-
tence of an emergency during the period from November 16,
1962 to November 30, 1962 inclusive which rendered necessary
the employment of certain employees of the Department of
Public Utilities for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
Making air pollution tests,
Working on downtown Christmas lighting,
and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Work necessary at irregular hours to complete tests
for federal agency,
Holiday work necessary to complete downtown Christmas
lighting,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to
pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinancq,
Ordinance No. 6446.
