Holland — Resolved, That the grope = officers are hereby authorized to certain employes in the Departmel W$ter for extra employment as scribed in the resolution. Adopted by the Council Decemb 1962. Approved December 4, 11962. (December 8, 1962) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter the existence of an emergency during the period from November 16th to November 30th, 1962 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: 1) Repairing equipment, various stations. 2) Working extra shifts, various stations. 3) Inspecting new main installed by contractor. 4) Driving country crew to and from work. 5) Pumped water out of 12 foot meter pit and repaired damage to pipe. (6) Installing new service lonnections at various locations. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: 1) Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. 2) Absence of employees on regular shifts. 3) Necessary to do inspecting after day's work by contractor. 4) On account of scattered work locations. 5) Pipe broken by department employee late in -the day and it was necessary to restore service as soon as possible. (6) Necessary to complete installations before inclement weather. THEREI;'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city off i cers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the .Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6146.
