WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the-City Charter, the existence of an emergency dur-
ing the period from January 1, 1962 to January 31, 1962, which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees in the Department of Pub-
lic Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following work:
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reascn of the following facts and cir-
cumstances:
Lack of personnel to type reports and keep current
records up to date.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby au-
thorized to pay the employees who performed such world in accordance
with the provisions of the Council t s Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
