approved February 13, 1935, as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13,
1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking
out the specifications for ''Senior Public Works Technicianrr; and by
substituting in .lieu thereof the following specifications:

Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perfor difficult engineering work in the design
and planning, investigatio and inspection, or repair and maintenance
of streets, alleys, curbs, sewers, etc. ; and to perform related work
as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To act as chief inspector on ublic works construction projects .such as
grading, paving, sewers; sidewalks, etc.
To be in charge of materials inspection.
To act as assistant to the construction engineer in scheduling and
assigning inspectors to pr�jects.-
To supervise and train inspectors.
To be in charge of repair and, maintenance jabs.
To be in charge of a smaller �ublic Works section such as sidewalks.
To supervise draftsmen and assist designers in the planning and
layout of working details f�r general construction plans.
To prepare cost data and complete cost estimates for construction
projects.
To investigate unusual conditions as they develop in the planning and
building of streets in order to make proper adjustments during the
normal progress of the work.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and a asic engineering certificate such as
given by the University of innesota in its extension division
and three years' experiencI as an Assistant Public Works Technician.
(No substitution for education,)
Courses taken or certificates earned at other institutions of higher
learning will be evaluated and credited in accordance with the
standards established by the Advance Standing office of the
University of Minnesota.
