Under direction, to assist with the supervision of the maintenance and
repair of public school buildings, and to perform related work as
assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To assist in planning, coordinating, directing, and appraising the
maintenance of buildings.
To advise supervisors on all phases of building repair and maintenance.
To prepare estimates, sketches, and specifications for repairs and
alterations.
To inspect school buildings to determine when repairs or alterations
are necessary.
To estimate the cost of major maintenance or repair jobs.
To assign and direct the work of plumbers, painters, carpenters,
electricians, sheet metal workers, and other craftsmen and
laborers.
To assist in making up annual work programs.
To make reports and recommendations.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and three years' experience as a journeyman
in one of the building trades.
