WHEREAS, SSG 7ames M. Wosika Jr. died on January 9, 2007 from wounds suffered while serving as a member
of the armed forces in Iraq, and
WHEREAS, SSG James M. Wosika Jr. grew up in Saint Paul, participating in numerous youth sports at Palace
Recreation Center, and
WHEREAS, a community group has been formed for the purpose of raising funds to erect a flag pole at Palace
Recreation Center in honor of SSG James M. Wosika Jr„ and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Division of Parks and Recreation does not have a flag pole at Palace Recreation Center,
now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper officials in Saint PauPs Division of Parks and Recreation are hereby directed and
authorized to receive up to $4500 from the community group to cover the costs of the purchase, dehvery and
installation of a flag pole in honor of SSG James M. Wosika Jr., which shall be erected at Palace Recreation Center.
