WHEREAS, by Council File No. 205702, approved
January 25, 1962, the City Council approved plans and
specifications for the Riverview Storm W ater Relief Sewer,
Contract I. Phase I; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the work con-
templated by said plans and specifications in the most
T
economical and efficient manner, it has become'necessary
to amend certain portions of the special provisions of
the aforementioned plans and specifications, and all bidders
have been sent a copy of Addendum No. 1 relating to said
special provisions and their amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,thp action of the
City Engineer and of the Department of Public Works in draft-
ing and transmitting the hereto attached Addendum No. 1 to
all interested parties and so amending the special provisions
of the aforementioned plans and specifications, it is hereby
ratified, approved and authorized.

Sections E. or,F, Drawing No, 2714 and 2715 be accepted as an alternate
for Section- A.should the Contractor desire to build the entire 6°-0" and 50-0"
tunnels using precast concrete pipe sections. Also 70-0" diameter R.C.P.'or
70-0" equivalent Inner Circle.pipe will be accepted as an alternate for the
tunnel' section shown on Drawing No. 2716 should the Contractor •desire •to build
the 71-0" diameter tunnel using precast pipe sections.
60-0" and 7 ° -0" diameter circular concrete pipe sections used for tunnel-
ing in solid sandrock shall be Class I with 5000 psi concrete in accordance with
ASTM Designation C76 -59T. Inner Circle precast sections of 61-0" and 70-0"
equivalent sizes$. Where-used in solid sandrock, shall be manufactured with
sufficient steel -and_ concrete strength to conform to strength requirements for
Class II equivalent circular pipe in accordance with ASTM Designation C76 -59T.
Where 5b-0." diameter precast.pipe sections are used as an alternate for
Section A. Drawing No. 2714 the pipe shall be Class V in accordance with ASTM
Designation 'C76 505. Inner circle pipe used as an alternate for-'Section' A,.
,Dravying No. 2714 shall be manufactured with sufficient'steel and concrete to
conform to strength requirements for Class'V R.C.P.
Where Inner Circle pipe is eised in solid sandrock a'shi6ld will not be
required: Voids outside the pipe shall be filled with sand and the entire
length of tunnel shall be grouted to completely fill all voids outside the pipe,
however it will not be required that grouting be done after each day's tunneling
progress as required in glacial drift.
Where circular concrete pipe sections are used to line the tunnel in solid
sandrock it will not be required that a shield be used as described for building
the tunnel in glacial drift. The Joints shall.be made using RAM NEI; as described
for tunnel in glacial drift. All voids outside the pipe shall be grouted.;
