WEREAS, the increased local duties relating to the fallout
shelters imposed by the recently instituted Fallout Shelter Program
of the United States Government, as well as the added responsibilities
arising from this source .and from the Civil Defense Program of the
State of Minnesota, can not be adequately performed by the present
staff of the Bureau of Civil Defense of the City of Saint Paul, a,nd
therefore make it imperative that additional personnel be obtained by
said Bureau of Civil Defense ; and t
WIRE , in the opinion of the Director of Civil Defense
it has become necessary to create the position of Shelter Management
Officer and the position of Public Information Officer for the Bureau
-and to provide stenographic help in said Bureau, all within the I
Classified Civil Service of the City of Saint Paul; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper officials of the City of Saint Paul
are hereby authorized and directed to proceed to draw up the necessary
specifications for the positions of Shelter Management Officer,
Public Information Officer, and Stenographer within the Bureau of
Civil Defense and to provide for the filling of said positions within
the regulations of the Civil Service Bureau of the City of saint Paul.
