Council City of Saint Paul Dear Council Members: A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known as $98 Monroe Court, described as Lot 10, Block 1, Michel & Robertson's Addition, St. Paul 2, Minnesota. This property is owned by Mrs. Elizabeth Janotta, c/o Jackson, Walsh & Yackel, Endicott Building, St. Paul 1 and Mr. Joseph F. Keppel, Attorney, 532 Builders Exchange Building, 609 Sec- ond Avenue South,-Minneapolis, Minnesota. In•this matter, the following resolutions were adopted by the City Council: C. F. 202515, adopted by the Council June 8, 1961 (published June 10, 1961) set a public hearing at 10 A. M. June 30, 1961. C. F. 202887 adopted by the Council July 5, 1961 (published July 8, 1961] ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of-the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof. C. F. 203340, adopted by the Council August 3, 1961 (published August 5, 1961) directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recrea- tion And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the one story single family dwelling thereon, and do any and all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining property. C. F. 204063, adopted by the Council September 22, 1961 (publish- ed September 23, 1961) approved the award of the contract for wrecking to Truck Crane Service Co. for the sum of $165.00 in accordance with specifications and informal bid No. 3065. -r Pg 2. C. F. 205756, adopted by the Council January 30, 1962, published February 3, 1962, provided that the wrecking expense of $165.00 and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation And Public Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the amount of $41.91, making a total of $206.91 be paid out of Wrecking Condemned Buildings, 31 G 22, and, in the event said sum proves collectible from the owner, same is to be credited to 31 G 22. The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a register- ed bill mailed to the owners. We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten days' notice to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred and to confirm the amount. The Council resolution confirming the expense should end with a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement of expense for the purpose of securing a lien on the property.
