WHEREAS, the City Architect has requested the
City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any
complaints about the expense incurred by the City of
Saint Paul in removing a dangerous structure at 898 Monroe
Court, more particularly described as: Lot 10, Block 1,
Michel & Robertson's Add.; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record
owners of the property are Mrs. Elizabeth Janotta, c/o
Jackson, Walsh & Yackel, Endicott Building, St. Paul 1 and
Mr. Joseph F. Keppel, Attorney, 532 Builders Exchange
Building, 609 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota,
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Saint Paul hold a public hearing in the Council Chamber at
.10 o'clock A. M. on the 2.9th day of February, 1962, to con-
sider any complaints about the expense incurred by the City
of Saint Paul and to confirm the amount thereof; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify
by mail the record owners of the property in question at
the last known addresses.

Dear Council Members:
A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on
this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property
known as $98 Monroe Court, described as Lot 10, Block 1,
Michel & Robertson's Addition, St. Paul 2, Minnesota.
This property is owned by Mrs. Elizabeth Janotta, c/o Jackson,
Walsh & Yackel, Endicott Building, St. Paul 1 and Mr. Joseph
F. Keppel, Attorney, 532 Builders Exchange Building, 609 Sec-
ond Avenue South,-Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In•this matter, the following resolutions were adopted by the
City Council:
C. F. 202515, adopted by the Council June 8, 1961 (published
June 10, 1961) set a public hearing at 10 A. M. June 30, 1961.
C. F. 202887 adopted by the Council July 5, 1961 (published
July 8, 1961] ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost
and expense of-the owner, occupant, or other person in control
thereof.
C. F. 203340, adopted by the Council August 3, 1961 (published
August 5, 1961) directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recrea-
tion And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and
remove the one story single family dwelling thereon, and do any
and all things therein necessary for the protection of life,
limb, and adjoining property.
C. F. 204063, adopted by the Council September 22, 1961 (publish-
ed September 23, 1961) approved the award of the contract for
wrecking to Truck Crane Service Co. for the sum of $165.00
in accordance with specifications and informal bid No. 3065.

C. F. 205756, adopted by the Council January 30, 1962,
published February 3, 1962, provided that the wrecking expense
of $165.00 and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation
And Public Buildings in connection with the condemnation
in the amount of $41.91, making a total of $206.91 be paid out
of Wrecking Condemned Buildings, 31 G 22, and, in the event said
sum proves collectible from the owner, same is to be credited
to 31 G 22.
The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a register-
ed bill mailed to the owners.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten days'
notice to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred
and to confirm the amount. The Council resolution confirming
the expense should end with a directive to the City Clerk to
file a statement of expense for the purpose of securing a lien
on the property.

Please file a statement of expense in the office of the Regis-
ter of Deeds for the purpose of creating a lien on the property
known as Lot 10, Block 1, Michel & Robertson's Addition, de-
scribed as 898 Monroe Court, St. Paul 2, Minnesota.
The property was listed in the names of Mrs. Elizabeth Janotta
c/o Jackson, Walsh & Yackel, Endicott Building, St. Paul 1, and
Mr. Joseph F. Keppel, Attorney, 532 Builders Exchange Building,
609 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The expense was incurred by reason of the wrecking and removal
of the dangerous one story single family dwelling therefrom.
Following is an itemized statement of the expenses as per Reg-
istered Bill,No. 4 -1952, dated December 18, 1961, copy attached.
