1 WHEREAS, Andreas Thorsdalen Tveit is visiting the City of Saint Paul from his home in Stavanger,
2 Norway; and
4 WHEREAS, Andreas is visiting his cousins, Brian and Bonnie Alton, who, like many Saint Paul residents,
5 are grateful for the opportunity to renew their connections with the "old counhy; ' and
7 WHEREAS, Andreas is eager to learn about American culture, government and business during his three
8 week visit to Saint Paul; and
10 WHEREAS, he will be spending his mornings working at Selby Avenue's favorite neighborhood bakery,
11 Great Harvest, and his afternoons shadowing people in a variety of settings; and

WHEREAS, Andreas is spending today, August 8, at City Hall, visiting both Norwegian American
Council Member Dave Thune's Office and the Mayor's Office;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Saint Paul City Council does hereby proclaim Wednesday, August 8, 2007 to be
Andreas Thorsdalen Tveit Day
20 in the City of Saint Paul and urges all citizens to welcome him to our community.
