RESOLVED, that State of Minnesota, Department of-Administration,
be permitted to remodel an existing employee and customer parking
lot on Lot 11, Capitol Grounds - Addition, in the triangle formed
by Rice Street, John Ireland Boulevard, and the State Highway
Building, in accordance with plans approved July 5, 1962, subject
to compliance with the provisions of all ordinances governing
the operation of parking lots and to the condition that the side -
walks abutting said premises be kept clean 'and free of ice and snow
at all times.

attached application of the State of Minnesota, Dept. of Administration,
for permit to remodel an existing employe and customer parking lot on
Lot 11, Capitol Grounds Addition, in the triangle formed by Rice St.,

This is in the matter of the application of the State of
Minnesota to remodel an employee and customer parking lot
on property located in the triangle formed by Rice Street,
John Ireland Boulevard and the Highway building and de-
scribed as Lot 11, Capitol Grounds Addition. The zoning
is commercial and light industry.
This is an irregularly shaped tract of land having frongage
on Rice Street and John Ireland Boulevard. The site is pre-
sently developed with off - street parking for the Minnesota
State Highway Department and state officials. It is proposed
to remodel this facility by eliminating one of the driveways
now fronting on Rice Street and replacing it with a new curb
cut off John Ireland Boulevard. The lot will have a capacity
of approximately ?? cars. The Traffic Engineer has approved
the plan which meets the standards for this type of facility.
Field investigation discloses no objection to the proposal.
In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning
recommends the granting of the applicbtion for an employee
and customer parking lot on the above described property in
accordance with plans approved July 5, 1962.
