A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is to reconstruct the sidewalk on both sides of
Wilder Street•from Selby Avenue to Dayton Avenue., "except where good and sufficient
sidewalks -now exist."
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed anc
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council fol
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro.
teed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

The Cormni.ssioner of Public Works, having had under consideration the pre-
liminary order of the Council, known as Council File No. 207548
approved June 6th. 19 62 relative to reconstructing the side-
walk on both sides of Wilder St, from Selby Ave. to Dayton Ave.
and having investigated the matters and things referred to therein, hereby reports:
1. The estimated cost thereof is $0.52 per so. f t _ for m o n.o _ cone- w a l k
4" thick. Extra work(excay., fill., cone, rem'd, root cutting, drive
crossings, etc.) at extra cost.
2. A plan, profile or sketch of said improvement is hereto attached and made
a part hereof.

object to the proposal for constructing new sidwalks . The existing sidewalks "

are in'a'safe and adequate condition and we' see •no need to spend assessment
on unnecessary items such as this when there are go many woAhwhile
