A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is__ to_ construct new sidewa

and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials -are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

The Commissioner of Public Works, having had under consideration the pre-
liminary order of the Council., known as Council File Noe 206629
approved April 3rd. 1962 relative to constructing new sidewalk
on both sides of Bush Ave. from Nortonia Ave. to Ruth St. and on the
south side of Bush Ave. from Ruth St. to Pedersen St.
and having investigated the matters and things referred to therein,'hereby reports:
1. The estimated cost thereof is $0.52 per sq. ft. for mono, cone. walk
4" thick. Extra work(excsv., fill, cone, rem'd, root cutting, drive
crossings, etc.) at extra cost.
2. A plan, profile or sketch of said improvement is hereto attached and made
a part -.hereof.

I have examined the attached petition of remonstrance,
filed in the matter of constructing new sidewalk on both sides
of Bush Avenue from Nortonia Avenue to Ruth Street and on the
south side of Bush Avenue from Ruth Street to Pedersen Street,
Amount of frontage involved in said improvement - 1,025.14 ft.
Amount signed for on said petition 925.14 ft., or 90%
Amount required by Charter - 50%
Number of resident owners involved 27
Number who signed said petition - 24 or 89%
Amount required by Charter 60%
From the above facts you will note that the petition of
remonstrance is sufficient.
