RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul,
that rental and use of Midway Stadium for the dates August
25 and 26, 1962, by Nation Wide Rodeo is hereby authorized
subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. Move in dates shall.be August 23 and 24, 1962,
and move out dates shall be August 27, 1962, and these dates
shall include moving equipment, materials and supplies in and
out of the Stadium and restoring the grounds to substantially
,the same condition as they were in prior to the rodeo.
2. Nation Wide Rodeo shall furnish to the City of
Saint Paul public liability and property damage insurance
with the City named as co- insured therein in an amount of
not less than Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000)
for bodily injuries to or death of one person and subject to
the same limit for each person in a total amount of not less
than Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) on account of '
any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount
of not less than Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) for all damages
to or destruction of property in any one accident, and further
subject to a total of not less than One Hundred Thousand Dollars
($100,000) for all damages to or destruction of property during
the policy period, which period shall -be August 23 through
August 279 19629 inclusive. Such policy of insurance shall
be in a form approved by the Corporation Counsel.
3. All parking receipts shall belong to the City of
Saint Paul.
4. All concessions outside of programs and naelties
shall be handled by Midway Stadium concessionaire lessee under
the terms of the lease between the City of Saint Paul and said
lessee.
5. Cost of all building construction and removal thereof
necessary for the presentation of the rodeo shall be paid for
by Nation Wide Rodeo.

6. The baseball diamond and playing field are to
be restored to their original condition suitable for playing
baseball thereon at the expense of Nation Wide Rodeo, and an
advance deposit of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) which deposit
shall be either a cash deposit or a certified check payable
to the City of Saint Paul shall be made by said Nation Wide
Rodeo to Edward A. Furni, Manager of the Saint Paul Midway
Stadium, not later than August 23, 1962. If restoration of
of the baseball diamond and pla ing field is in an amount of
less than Five Hundred Dollars T$500) the amount representative
of such difference between the actual cost of restoration and
$500 shall be returned to the lessee Nation Wide Rodeo.
7. Tickets, ticket sellers, ticket takers, ushers
and all attendant service necessary and all advertising
and publicity shall be provided and paid for by Nation Wide
Rodeo.
8. The rental fee for use of Midway Stadium for said
period by Nation Wide Rodeo shall be Seven Hundred Dollars
($700) and shall be paid by Nation Wide Rodeo to the City of
Saint Paul in the form of a certified check payable to said
City on or before August 25, 1962.
9. Nation Wide Rodeo shall accept and agree to be
bound by the terms, conditions and provisions of this resolution
by letter from its Ganeral Manager to the City accepting said
terms, conditions and provisions of this resolution, which letter
shall be filed with the City Clerk of the City of Saint Paul
not later than the 22d day of August, 1962.

The 'Nation Wide Rodeo
Corp., sponsors of the rodeo,
ran into financial difficulties
Saturday and before stadium
officials would open the door
several bills had to be paid.
The performance went on
late. More than 500 spectators
watched the show and about
1,000 more people were turned
away before the rent bill was
cleared up.
Sunday afternoon the cow-
boys staged the final show of
the rodeo for about 600 spec-
tators. One cowboy from
Anoka said, "None of the boys
made a dime. We all lost
money."
One 24- year -old rider was
hurt when he tried to keep
the promoter from leaving
with $300 in gate receipts.
Daryl L. Mountain, 24, of
333 Third ave., St. Paul Park,
was 'treated at Ancker; hos-
pital. Police said he tried to
stop the promoter's car by
jumping on it. -

promoter, identified as a Dan
Anderson. The cowboys told
police Anderson said he had

Hotel officials said they
would take the matter up with
the city attorney today while
several cowboys planned to
talk to the county attorney.
Meanwhile, the hotel is
