PUBLISHED~
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint
Paul, in behalf of said City and its inhabitants, hereby
takes and records official cognizance of the extensive,,
eminent and consistently meritorious career of the
Honorable Carlton F. McNally in the public service and in
the promotion of the common weal as prominent Member of
the Minnesota Bar, Commissioned Officer in the Army of the
United States of America during World War I, Corporation
Counsel of said City and Member of the Bench of the District
Court in and for the County of Ramsey and State of Minnesota,
wherein he ever effectively strove to promote the Cause of
Justice and the best interests of Society under our Consti-
tutional form of Government and which was terminated by his
death which occurred on the 28th day of April, 1962; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, among other things, hereby
especial notice is taken and recorded concerning the extra=
ordinarily high moral caliber, proficiency and aptitude
which constantly characterized his life and service, both
as Lawyer and Judge, whereby he attained and merited an
excellent reputation for erudition and humane attitude; and
that,in recognition of his high quality and public service,
this Council hereby confers upon the said Honorable Carlton
F. McNally, posthumously, this "Citation for Extraordinary
Merit in Law and Civics" and directs and authorizes the
City Clerk to cause an engrossed certified copy of this
Resolution to be prepared and delivered to the surviving
spouse of the late Honorable Carlton F. McNally with all
convenient,,speed.
