Council File loo, 268673—By Bernard T Holland— Resolved, That the proper City offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department Of Water for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council August 15, 1962, Approved August 15, 1962. (August 18, 1962) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from August 1st to August 15th, 1962 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Handling meter reading cards received in the mail on Saturdays: (2) Necessary to finish billing consumers water accounts delayed by machine breakdown and personal illness. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reAon of the following facts and circumstances: �1) In order to have readings ready for billers on Monday. (2) In order to have customers' bills in the mail by the 13th of the month. THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary' Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
