2 WIIEREAS, the City of Saint Paul and the Mayor o£ Saint Paul deem it an appropriate public
3 purpose to recognize ciry employees for their commitment and dedication to public service through an
4 annual employee picnic; and

6 WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have authorized the solicitation of donations from area
7 merchants via Council Resolution #07-359; and
8
9 WHEREAS, without solicitation by the city, Simon Delivers offered to donate bottles of water and
10 ice cream bars from a Simon Delivers Truck at the 2007 City Employee Picmc to be held on August 14,
11 2007, and the City desires to accept this offer, now therefore be it;

13 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the donation of water and ice cream bars
14 from Simon Delivers for the 2007 City Employee Picnic as a part of the fulfillment of the public purpose
15 served thereby.
