Resolved, that the Saint Paul City Council requests that the Adrninistration conduct a feasibitiYy study to
identify suitable locations for stabling the Mounted Patrol horses and determine if there is potential cost
savings associated with construction of a new facility located within the City of Saint Paul.
Resolution Requesting a Feasibility Study of locating a Mounted Patrol Facility within
the City of Saint Paul
I Whereas, the Saint Paul Police Department currently makes effective use of horse patrols at a wide ran�e
2 of events, festivals, and community relations activities; and

4 Whereas, the horses for the Saint Paul Mounted Patrol are currently stabled outside of the city limits; and

6 Whereas, there is strong public interest in having the Saint Paul Mounted Patrol more centrally located
7 within the City of Saint Paul; and
9 Whereas, a CIB proposal was submitted to build a Saint Paul Mounted Patrol facility on designated
10 pazkland within Como Pazk that would require a waiver from the no net loss of pazkland requirement set
ll forth in the City of Saint Paul Charter; and

13 Whereas, there aze potentially a number of suitable locations for a Mounted Patrol facility that would
14 provide a centralized location without disrupting existing parkland. Now, therefore be it

that it include interested residents as part of the process.
