WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Finance has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the exis-
tence of an emergency during the period from July 15 to July
31, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain
employees of the Department of Finance for more than eight
hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following
work:
spreading assessments; checking assessment spreads;
preparing Auditorts report; and bringing transfer
book records up to date;
WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason.-of the follow-
ing facts and circumstances: two vacancies in the Bureau
of Receipts and Disbursements and a shortage of experienced
assessment clerks;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers
are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such
work in accordance with the provisions of the Councilts salary
ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
