rendered necessary for the preservation of the. public peace, health and

THE COUNCIL OF THE: CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance. No. 7607, approved February 13,
1935, as amended, be. and the same is hereby further amended by striking
out the. title and ,specifications for, Secretary - .Stenographer and
Secretarial Assistant.
fSection.2. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by inserting in its, proper alphabetical
order the following title, and. specifications, for Secretary.

Under supervision, to assist an elective official, or an executive
or administrator who is responsible for one of the major
functions of the City Government, by handling routine office
matters independently, by performing important stenographic
work, or by compiling information; and to perform related
work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To relieve the executive of routine administrative details.
To answer routine correspondence independently.
To make appointments and interview callers.
To take and transcribe dictation, including dictation involving
legal, scientific, or other specialized matter.
To compile and summarize information, to brief reports, to
keep records and maintain files, and to take minutes of the
proceedings of hearings, conferences, and meetings.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and eight years' clerical experience, three
years of which must have been in a grade equivalent to that of
Senior Clerk- Stenographer.
