1dEOMAS, The Commissioner of Finance has reported, in accord -
dance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emer-
gency during the period from December 1 through December 15, 1962,
which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the
Department of Finance for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following works spreading assessments
and checking assessment spreads and preparing Auditor's report, and
bringing transfer book records up to date; and
WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances: two vacancies in the Bureau of Receipts and Dis-
bursements and a shortage of experienced assessment clerks;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESC)LVED That the proper city officers are'
hereby,authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Councilts salary ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
