WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from December 1, 1962
to December 31, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Depa rtment of Public Safety f or more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following works
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Maintenance and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Maintaining a crew on the Christmas Holidays and New Yearts Eve Holiday.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorised to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No, 6446,
