_ _'-_WHEREAS, The Corporation Counsel of the City of
Saint Paul and the County Attorney of Ramsey County main-
tain and operate a Joint library facility for the use-of the
Corporation Counsel and the County Attorney and their respec-
tive staffs pursuant to agreement between the parties, and
WHEREAS;._Library facilities as so maintained by
said Corporation Counsel and County Attorney have expanded to
a degree and represent an investment of tax monies which re-
quires the services and attention of a qualified librarian on
a part -time basis in order properly to care for, protect, and
preserve said library and

WHEREAS, neither.of the offices hereto have within
their staff or Civil Service structure qualified employees r:
available to perform the necessary services on a part -time
basis; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Saint
Paul that for the reasons aforesaid the City of Saint Paul
herewith authorizes the proper officers of said City to enter
into a contract with the County of Ramsey under the terms of
�- which A -qualified librarian-Will-be employed on- a part =time -
basis in order to maintain and operate that joint library
facility presently used by the Corporation Counsel of said
City and the County Attorney of said County and their respec-
tive staffs; and, further, that the Comptroller of said City
of Saint Paul is herewith authorized to make necessary dis-
bursements for the remuneration of said part -time librarian
and
RESOLVED FURTHER,•That said Comptroller shall be
authorized to expend not more than one -half of the salary of
said librarian, said expenditures to be made by reimbursing
said County of Ramsey on the assumption that said County of
Ramsey-has paid the full salary of said part -time librarian.

The attention of County Attorney - Corporation Counsel - City Council, % City Clerk -
Civil Service Administrator - County Auditor - City Comptroller
is respectfully called to the following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Ramsey
County, Minnesota, adopted at the meeting held on December 17, 1962
By Commissioner Carlson:
RESOLVED That the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners, subject to
the approval of the CoundiM of the City of St. Paul,approves an agreement
between the County of Ramsey and the City of St. Paul, acting pursuant to
the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1961, Section 471.59, and providing
for the services of a librarian on a part -time basis to serve the Joint
Library facilities for the use of the Corporation Counsel of the City of
St. Paul and staff and the County Attorney of Ramsey and staff according
to provisions of the aforesaid agreement which is a made a part hereof
by, reference, and Be It Further
RESOLVED That the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners
and the County Auditor are authorized to execute the aforesaid agreement
on behalf of the County of Ramsey.
