RFSOLVFD, That this Council, being duly advised in the premises,
finds that, by reason of unforeseen and excessive claims which have
accrued as charges against the same, the City funds appropriated there*
for mid credited to the Judgment and Compromise Fund 29 A 1,, are in«r
adequate to properly protect the public interests, and there has been
created and now exists a sudden and unforeseen emergency, on such
account; that to meet said emergency it has become and is necessary
that, pursuant to Section 206 of the-City Charter; the City borrow,
temporarily, not to Exceed the sum of $7,600.,06, to be credited to-
said Judgment and Compromise Fund 29 A 1; that the May-or and the
Comptroller be and hereby are authorized and directed for the purpose
aforesaid, to.bbrrow3 in the Cityrs behalf, not to exceed the sum
of 47,600,063 and to execute and deliver to the party-or parties making
such loan, the promissory note of the City in the same principal sum,
payable to such party or parties, bearing, interest not to exceed five
per cent per annum, and payable within one year after the date of
such loan, the said sum to be credited as aforesaid to Baid Judgment
and Compromise Fund 29 A 1, subject therein to disbursement for the
purposes of said emergency and the particular purpose of said Fund.
