In the Matter of opening, widening and extending W. Sixth St. from Auditorium St. to
W. Seventh St. by taking and condemning those parts of Lots 8 and 9, Block 2, Rice
and Irvine's Addition to Saint Paul, lying southerly and southeasterly of the
following described line: beginning at a point on the west line of said Lot 8,
27 ft. and 4 inches northerly of the south line of said Lot 8; thence easterly and
parallel to said south line of Lot 8 to a point on the west line of said Lot 9;
thence northeasterly to the point of,.intersection of the east line of said Lot 9
and the northwesterly line of W. $0v0athrSt_:;,iexcept those parts taken for the
opening and widening of W. Seventh St.
under Preliminary Order 209289 Approved September 27, 1962
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is to open, widen and
extend W. Sixth St. from Auditorium St. to W. Seventh St. by taking and condemning
those parts of Lots 8 and 9. Block 2, Riceaand Irvine's Addition to Saint Paul,
lying southerly and southeasterly of the following described line: beginning at a
point on the west line of said Lot 8, 27 ft. and 4 inched northerly of the south
line of said Lot 8; thence easterly and lba.rallel to said south line of Lot 8 to a
point on the west line of said Lot 9; thence northeasterly to the point of intersec-
tion of the east line of said Lot 9 and the northwesterly line of W. Seventh St.,
except those parts taken for the opening and widening of W. Seventh St.
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ 11,000.00
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 27th day of
November, 1962 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
