Resolved, That the proper City
officers are hereby authorized to pay
certain employes in the Civil. Service
Bureau for extra employment as de-
scribed in the resolution.-

WHEREAS, The Civil Service Commissioner has reported in accordance with
Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from June 1, 1962, to October 29, 1962, which rendered necessary
the employment of certain employees of the Civil Service Bureau for more
than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following
work: 11
Necessary to administer examinations on Saturdays and
evenings; to finish payroll and record work for which
there were necessary time limits during the period in
which the office was short two permanent employees.
AND WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Could not be handled by untrained personnel.
`.THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the proper city officers are hereby authorized
to pay the employees shown on the attached list, who performed such work
in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance,
No. 6446.
