Gentlemen:
Some time ago -a special fund was set up for the purpose
of making refunds where they become necessary in the
issuing of permits. I believe this fund was set up with
a maximum of $500.00 and a maximum check on a refund of
$100.00.
We have now changed our permit fee structure and generally
increased permit fees on an overall basis of about 35% and
in some areas there has been a very substantial increase.
In view of the above facts I would request that the necessary
steps be taken, possibly an amendment to the ordinance or a
resolution permitting refunds to be made without Council ,ap-
proval in amounts of up to $250.00 for each refund. I have
discussed this matter with Mr. Schleck of your department
and I believe he is familiar with the problem.
Sincerely yours,
Alf H. Schroeder
