2 WfIEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, through its acting Valuation & Assessments Engineer, has secured an
3 agreement with Ra.msey County for the purchase of one pazcel of real property (PIN #34-29-22-31-0051),
4 described as follows:
6 Absh Eastview Addition No. 3, the East 1 foot of Lots 13 through Lot 30, Block 4.
7 Torrens: All that part of the following described tract.•
s The North 32.8 feet of Lot 25 and all of Lots 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Block 4, Easiview Addition No.
9 3; which lies Easterly of a line run parallel with and distant 1 foot YVesterly of the East line of the
lo above described tract; subject to all right of access, being the right of ingress to and egr°ess fr�om
11 that portion of the above described tract, not acquired herein to Trunk Highway No. 212. ; and

13 VJHEREAS, said property borders a residential complex on the west and a public alley on the east that
t4 contains a large and deep sewer line; and the City wishes to acquire the parcel to ensure there is adequate
15 easement area to provide for maintenance and to keep structures a safe distance from the line; and

WHEREAS, the value of said property, as deternuned by Ramsey County, is Five Hundred and 00/100
Dollars ($500.00); and
WHEREAS, the acting Valuation & Assessments Engineer has recommended the purchase of said property
at the deternuned value; now therefore be it
23 RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to pay Ramsey County
24 $638.70, which is the sum of $500.00 for the purchase of said property, plus $138.70 for recording fees;
25 said sum to be charged to Activity Code: CPL-000-2T698-0789-00000.

Initiating Problem, lssues, Opportunity (Who, What, When, Where, Why):
The City's Public Works Department wishes to acquue this parcel because: 1) it will help ensure there is adequate easement azea for
maintenance of a lazge and deep sewer in the abutting alley; and 2) it will keep structures a safe distance from the sewer line. Ramsey
County has valued the pazcel at $500 plus recording costs. -
Advantages If Approvetl: - -
The City can purchase a pazcel useful to its sewer protection needs at a very low cost.
