RESOLVED, that the State of Minnesota, acting in the
premises by and through its Commissioner of Highways, be granted
a permit to install and operate a private gasoline filling station
at 1246 University Avenue in Saint Paul, more particularly described
as Lot 4 and the East 55 feet of Lot 5, Block 3, Midway Industrial
Division, in accordance with the plan submitted, the installation
to be under the direction and to the 6•atisfaction of the Commissioner
of Public Safety and the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and
Public Buildings and subject to compliance with the provisions of
all applicable City ordinances and State statutes and rules and
regulations of public authorities having cognizance. Whenever
the Council may determine that said station constitutes a traffic
or fire hazard, this permit may be revoked.

Dear Sir:
In regard to the application of the Minnesota Highway Department for
permission to install a private gasoline filling station on their
property at 1246 University Avenue.
We have investigated the foregoing and report that this installation
will be installed in accordance with the rules and regulations of
the National Board of Fire Underwriters and the St. Paul Fire Pre-
vention Code.
r We also were informed that this project has been abandoned for the
present and this installation may not be done until next spring.
We recommend that permission be granted.
