PAUL OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COU IL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER DATE 2159-'-17 COUNCIL NO ,q,,z�r;•� �bexh� 1. `.'_i OP ut aC'ival, 'W U56 WHEREAS, the 1963 Session of the Legislature of the State of Minnesota has passed Chapter 851.of Laws of Minnesota for 1963, which Statute was signed by the Governor of the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, said Act by its terms provides that said Act shall become effective only after approval by a majority of the governing body of the City of Saint Paul and upon compliance with Minnesota Statutes 1961, Sec. 645.021; and t WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul has heretofore indicated that it is inclined toward approval of said statute; and WHEREAS, certain City employees were excepted from the provisions of said Chapter 851, Laws of Minnem to for 1963, which act, upon approval by the governing body of the City of Saint Paul and upon compliance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1961 Sec. 645.021 will provide, among othBr things, for authorization for City payment, pursuant to the provisions of said Act, for insurance affording medical, surgical and hospitalization benefits for employees who retire under ana pursuant to the provisions of said Chapter 851, Now, Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby determines to confer upon all City employees who retire > 2 from said City employment under the laws of 1963 or any applicable o State law, insurance benefits equivalent to those provided by Q n- said Chapter 851 to retiring employees designated in said Act, �(° as soon as enabling legislation to accomplish the objective of affording equivalent benefits to all City employees has been 0 adopted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota.
