WHEREAS, William Miske, an employe of the Department
of Public Safety, Bureau of Police, was injured in a third
party accident on October 1, 1963, while engaged in the
performance of his duties for said Bureau; and
WHEREAS, the City has incurred medical expense in
the amount of $49.50 therefor, and said employe was disabled
for work for a period of time, being paid salary in the amount
of $88.54 therefor; and
WHEREAS, a settlement has been negotiated between
said employe and the other party involved in said accident,
in the total amount of $600.00, and out of said sum, the City
will receive the full amount of its subrogation interest by
reason of injury to its employe, $138.04, less one - fourth
as attorneys fees, $34.51, or a net settlement to the City
of $103.53, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City officers are heeby
authorized to accept and endorse the check of the Saint Paul
Mutual Insurance Company in the sum and amount of $600.00 and
payable to William Miske, his attorney Gerald Rummel--and the -
City of St. Paul, to accept from said sum the amount of
$103.53 $66.41 to be credited to the police salary fund and
$37.12 to the T kmen's Gompensation FUhd; to issue the City's
draft for the remaining $496.47 payable to said William Miske
and to Gerald Rummel, his attorney ;further, to execute any
necessary releases therefor.
