A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im=
provement to be made by the said City is to reconstruct the sidewalk on both sides of
Blair Ave. from Wheeler,'St, to Aldine St. except where good and sufficient sidewalks
now exist
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

It is good news indeed that the Council is considering
new sidewalks for Blair Ave. from Aldine St. to Wheeler St.
Our own sidewalk was so badly damaged when we had some
building done, in the spring of 1960, that we had a "new
standard 6 ft. wide walk" put in at that time-(1747 Blair Ave.)
We may not be able to attend trhe public hearing on this matter
and wanted to let you know that we heartily approve of having
better sidewalks on this street.

The Commissioner of Public Works, having had under consideration the pre-
liminary order of the Council., known as Council File No. 211336
approved Feb. 20th. 1963 relative to reconstructing the side-
walk on both sides of Blair Ave. from Wheeler St. to Aldine St.
and having investigated the matters and things referred to therein, hereby reportss
to The estimated cost thereof is $3.25 per lin. ft. for a standard side-
walk 5 ft. wide and $3.80 per lin. ft. for a standard sidewalk 6 ft. wide.
2. A plan, profile or sketch of said improvement is hereto attached and made
a part hereof. co
