Holland — Resolved, That the proper City offi- cers are hereby) authorized to pay Certain employes in the Department of Water for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council October 1, 1963. Approved October 1, 1963. (October 5, 1963) + ti WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter the existence of an emergency during the period from September 16th to September 30th, 1963 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: �1) Repairing equipment, various stations. 2) Working extra shifts, various stations. (3) Inspecting new mains installed by contractor. (4) Driving country crew to and from work. (5) Installing service connections on new main constructed, by private contractor. (6) Chal#ng flooding 12' meter at 121 W. Seventh Street. .AM WHEREAS, the emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) Necessary tocb work during low consumption hours. 2) Absence of employees on regular shifts. 3) Necessary to do inspecting after day's work by contractor. 4) On account of scattered work locations. (5) Necessary to work after private contractor completed day's work. (6) Flooding meter complaint received at 4:00 p.m. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
