WHEREAS, the Department of Fire and Safery Services would like to buiid an addition to Fire Station 22 to house
Medic 22 and provide secure storage space for medic suppiies, and
WHEREAS, there are three fire vehicles assigned to Station 22 and currently there are only hvo overhead doors to
enter and exit from and no clean space to secure medical supplies, and
W4IEREAS, the Department of Fire and Safety Services has put this project out for bid twice and made plan
modifications but the bid came back $100,000.00 over budget, and
WHEREAS, the 2006 capital improvement budget included funding for the addition at Fire Station 22, and
WHEREAS, there is a su�cient bafance in the New Fire Station 8 project to sufficienUy cover the costs of the
addition at Fire Station 22, and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation ofi the Mayor and the
advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that the 2005 and 2006 Capital Improvement
Budgets, and heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, are hereby and further amended in the following
manner:

The Depariment of Fire and Safety Services would like to construct an addition at Fire Station 22. The deparhnent has received two
different bids foc the addition and each bid came back $100,000 over budget. The Depaztment of Fire and Safety Services has
identified $113,500.00 that can be used for the addition at 5tation 22.
Advantages If Approved:
Fue Station 22 will be able to have additional space for another vehicle and space to safely store medical supplies.
Disadvantages If Approved:
None.
Disadvantages If Not Approved:
The Depazhnent of Fire and Safety Services will not have the funding needed to build the addition at Fire Starion 22.
